Welcome to the Home Page of the 'Erben Music Festival'! The EMF was Founded in 2020 with the desire to collaborate with the global community through Music. Our core beliefs are centered on building bridges between cultures, and creating spaces to promote music with the desire to connect with each other.
The EMF has two key components; the Master Classes, and the Chamber Concerts.
The Masterclass Series is held at our workshop (The Erben Geigenbau), where we invite some of today's premier artists. Our motivation is to create an environment where learning can take place, and where conversation is encouraged. We want to provide young musicians with a place to develop, and to be who they are. Here at the EMF, differences are not shunned, but appreciated!
What makes the EMF unique, is that each year we also invite some of the best craftsmen and women of our trade. We believe that connecting musicians with artisans promotes better understanding between the two disciplines, and sets a platform for further innovation and development.
The 'EMF Chamber Concerts' is a chamber music festival designed to make music for the people. Each year, our organization will host a series of Chamber Concerts in collaboration with our local community. We believe in bringing music not only to our regular audiences, but to the under privileged people of our society. We are currently liaising with numerous members of our community to put forth a balanced project where people from all types of backgrounds can enjoy music!
Our dream is to make the world a better place through music, and we will continue to do our best to serve the world through our passion!

Daniel Schmidt is the President of the Violin and Bow Making Society of Germany. The Schmidt family's bow making dynasty spans more than 200 years.
Christophe Collinet is regarded as an Expert of historic French bows. His repair work is highly regarded and his bows are in demand with top orchestral musicians.
During each EMF Masterclass, we will hold a 'Lecture Night' with some of the world's top bowmakers. Through these events, we hope to connect Artists with Artisans, so they can continue to work in harmony throughout their respective careers. Our philosophy is, that, 'one cannot exist without the other', and with this in mind, we will continue to connect these two worlds, so our Artists' can discover and keep their voices. Bowmakers are considered to be silent servants of our trade, but we all know deep down, that it's the bow that creates the sound!

The 'EMF Workshop Concerts' is a platform designed to promote the Prize Winners of each EMF Masterclass. Every year, each Prize Winner is provided with a Solo Recital in our workshop, with our desire to help launch their promising careers. The EMF believes in supporting young musicians, and is constantly innovating new ways to provide them with the right kind of exposure. Besides promoting young talent, the EMF Workshop Concerts will also showcase a number of recitals performed by our local musicians!

The 'EMF Chamber Concerts' is an annual event, held in partnership with our local churches 'St Anton' & 'St Andrew'.
Situated by the tranquil 'Isar River', the EMF will present an eclectic range of music, performed by today's leading Artists.
'Serving people with Music' is one of our core beliefs at the EMF; and together with the Church, we will collaborate with our local community through our concerts, whilst providing 'free tickets' to the homeless, so they too can be supplemented with our music.
